El Corazon In Oceanside

Located in the center of Oceanside is El Corazon which translates to “the heart” in Spanish. The 465-acre property has been evolving over the decades after being donated by the U.S. Silica Company to the city in 1994. The Oceanside City Council adopted a specific plan for the area in 2009 which outlined parks, natural habitats, commercial and residential buildings as well as civic ones for the site.

A senior center opened in 2009 followed by the 20-field soccer area called So Cal Complex. The gorgeous Wagner Aquatic Center opened in 2021 and in 2024, the impressive 7,500-seat Frontwave Arena debuted attracting sports fans and concert goers. Apartments are currently being constructed and next up is a 51-acre commercial site and one occupant to lease one of three buildings will be Ionis Pharmaceuticals which will employ approximately 200 people.

The 17-acre site across from Frontwave is slated to be the first of nine community park sites at El Corazon. Current preliminary plans are for a dog park, sports fields pcinic areas, playgrounds, basketball courts, restrooms, and a bandstand. El Corazon is growing each day and bringing the residents of Oceanside and North County together to the heart of the community.
